What living here is actually like
A mild climate by Indian standards and a young, technical population — the density of engineers is the city's defining feature. Traffic and infrastructure strain are the standing complaints, and commute times shape where people choose to live and work. The startup and open-source community is unusually open to newcomers, including remote ones.
How the money works
Costs are low and salaries are low against Western scales, so this is not a market to move to for income — the value here is the ecosystem, not the pay packet. The language you actually need
The technology industry runs in English throughout, so professional participation needs nothing else. Kannada and Hindi shape daily life locally, but for the remote collaboration route that this hub is really about, English is sufficient.
