Score well and you move up to AIME, then USAMO. For a STEM application it is the maths result that needs no explaining.

- No minimum age. AMC 10: grade ≤10 & under 17.5; AMC 12: grade ≤12 & under 19.5
- What it costs
- You sit it through a school, which buys student licences from the MAA. What reaches the student is usually $5-20 per sitting, and plenty of schools absorb it entirely. Ask your teacher what it costs you before assuming either way.
