This suits you if…
You want to build real, deployed things in a team from year one, not prove theorems about them. You would rather learn one process well, version control and code review and testing, than sample every corner of theoretical computer science.
Look elsewhere if…
You want the deepest possible grounding in algorithms and theory. Or you plan a research degree afterward. Computer science gives you that foundation directly, and this degree will feel like it skipped a step you actually needed.

What the first year is really made of
Group projects, version control, and a language chosen for its industry use rather than its elegance. Alongside that comes enough software-engineering theory, testing and requirements and project process, that it can feel like a detour from actual coding. The students who leave usually wanted computer science's proofs or a purely hands-on bootcamp, and got neither. This sits deliberately between the two, and that middle ground disappoints anyone who wanted an extreme.
The catch
It's computer science with the theory sanded down, which is exactly its strength and its risk. An employer who wants deep algorithmic knowledge will still prefer a computer science graduate. This degree's practical framing also dates faster than computer science's mathematical core, so you retrain more often over a career.
